Neighbours set damaged by extra
Updated
Police were called to the set of Neighbours and the cast and crew forced to go home after an extra became distressed and started smashing glasses.
The incident happened in a Melbourne studio last Friday.
The female extra has been used on the show for the past 12 years.
She became distressed on the set of Charlie's Bar, a Neighbours spokeswoman confirmed.
The spokeswoman said it was a one-off incident.
"All that was smashed up was a couple of glasses that were on the bar in Charlie's and they shattered when they fell onto the floor, so damage was minimal," she said.
Police were called to the studio and the woman was taken by ambulance to hospital to be treated for cuts she suffered in the incident.
The spokeswoman said Neighbours staff had been in touch with the woman's family to check on her and it is understood she was successfully treated.
A Ten spokeswoman said all has returned to normal on set.
"It was handled appropriately and production finished early but resumed as normal Monday," the spokeswoman said.
